Oh well

Looks like we'll be waiting at least one more year to see another Secretariat gallop through the early-morning mist.

I would've enjoyed a win, but I'm far from crestfallen. I just hope the horse is OK, because he IS still very special.

One of the reasons I'm OK with it is because his human connections are hard to love. I like Kent Desormeaux because he cut his teeth on local tracks, but Rick Dutrow's a scumbag. I was rooting for the horse in spite of that.

I'm more than content to wait for a horse to come along who makes people feel like those in this video...
